Mechanical Engineer

Essential Functions (Responsibilities):

• Provide mechanical engineering support in the execution of HDGE’s Aero-derivative Gas Turbine Generator project. Serve as primary interface for engineering on technical issues with manufacturing, sourcing, project management, service, and end customer.

• Deliver mechanical project-specific bills of material, drawings and other internal/external customer documents on project schedule

• Provide technical support through ITO phase. Attend project design liaison meeting with design institute and end user to collect all required design input and customer specific requirements. Develop and modify the existing standard design to meet customer specific requirements.

• Support factory floor, collect any design change requirements and conduct design optimization.

• Provide support to customer site installation and commissioning for new units.

• Provide support to after sales services. Conduct site service based on CSA contract.

• Primary technical interface with suppliers. Work closely with Sourcing and Quality to conduct first piece qualification. Review supplier’s manufacturing processes and quality plan. Ensure the supplier to strictly follow and meet drawing and specification requirements.

• Coordinate engineering changes with Project management, Sourcing, and Production teams.

• Keep monitoring product configuration, make recommendation for improvement; update work instruction/guidelines.

• Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures.

• Other assigned tasks.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• BS degree or above in Mechanical Engineering or Thermal Engineering

• Five years experience in a mechanical engineering position.

• Two years experience in a manufacturing facility

• Two years experience with Power Generation equipment (Gas Turbines, Steam Turbines, Reciprocating Engines, Compressors, Generators)

• Ability to interpret Flow and Instrument Diagrams/Piping and Instrument Diagrams

• Ability to interpret General Arrangement Drawings

• Knowledge of Fluid Systems (Lubricating Oil, Hydraulic Oil, Fuel)

• Demonstrated ability to work with a cross-functional team.

• Some off-hour availability and domestic/international travel is required.

• Proven interpersonal skills / Strong Communication Skills

• English Speaking, Reading, Writing capabilities (CET-6 certification)
