Main Tasks


- Support on project quality discipline in investment projects focusing on NDT services, guide EP/EPC engineers with owners’ technical requirements, share with project team Lessons learned/best practices from previous projects, monitor effectiveness of EP/EPC quality management system, and coordinate timely to improve/remedy in case needed.

- Technical consultancy on risk-based inspection concepts and for troubleshooting regarding NDT methods (e.g. application, limitations and acceptance criteria) for chemical equipment.

- Develop, qualify, and approve NDT procedures and quality documents (technical questionnaires, check list etc.) and establish NDT technique solutions for special cases.

- Manage and coordinate owners and 3rd party NDT inspections and qualify 3rd party and NDT inspector in vendor workshop and site.

- Supervise vendor’s NDT division and qualified NDT service contractors, monitor vendor’s and contractor’s NDT performance, and assist them to improve technical processes.

- Ensure completeness and accuracy of test data acquired by special NDT contractors for new fabricated equipment, such as PAUT, TOFD, ECT, TTS-RT etc. and interpret test result/test data.

- Technically support on treatment and closure of “Non-Conformance Report” (NCR), and communicate with project team about deviations, initiate and follow up decisions for required rectification.

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in the field of NDT, mechanical, measurement technology, materials engineering or equivalent.

- At least 6 years total work experience with minimum 3 years’ experience in NDT in chemical industry.

- Good knowledge of the codes, requirements and quality standards for inspection and testing for fabricated equipment (e.g. TSG, GB, ISO, EN, ASME, ASTM, AWS, etc)

- Good knowledge of different non-destructive testing (NDT) methods and their application (e.g. RT, UT, ECT, PT, MT etc. and RT and UT Level II at least).

- Basic knowledge of special NDT methods like PAUT, TOFD, TTS-RT etc.

- Basic knowledge and experience in inspection and fabrication process of chemical and fabricated equipment (e.g. pressure vessels, tanks, reactors, heat exchangers, piping, valves, etc.) for both in shop fabrication and on site construction.

- Good knowledge and experience for materials manufacturing process, including rolling, forging, casting, heat treatment, welding, etc.

- Good skills of spoken & written technical English are essential.

- Willingness to travel frequently within China is essential.
