<strong>Principal Accountabilities/Responsibilities:</strong>

· As Director of Pack Technology (PT) you will be responsible for providing cost-effective R&amp;D for Boston-Power’s battery Pack Business Unit (PBU) in Beijing, China;

· Key responsibilities include coordination of: (i) technology forecasting and development, and
(ii) engineering modeling &amp; simulations, as well as (iii) direct management of technical staff;

· Lead a team of engineers responsible for exploration and development of new technologies &amp; design practices, delivering new solutions which offer differentiating value (such as improvements in performance, quality, cost, and safety);

· Ensure state-of-the-art computer assisted engineering (CAE) support to PT and product development programs, including computational fluid dynamics (CFD), finite element structural analysis (FEA), and in-house as well as third-party model based design tools (MBD) for systems simulations and analysis;

· Manage execution and provide technical leadership of PT programs, including applied research, integration, and efficient and effective transition from research and PT to product development;

· Prepare progress reports and provide briefings on technical concepts and project status, keeping leadership informed of progress against objectives;

· Stay current on industry trends and emerging trends in EV battery pack design, modeling &amp; simulation. Develop technology and innovation roadmap to ensure competitiveness;

· Conceive and develop novel technologies, modeling &amp; simulation approaches, internally and through the identification of external collaborative opportunities;

· Identify and establish working relationships with and leverage best-in-class product and technology development partners;

· Prepare, monitor, and manage PT budgets, schedules and resource planning;

· Identify training needs of PT team members;

· Support quality value engineering (QVE) and cost-out projects for existing designs;

· Work with other functional teams to provide inputs and support;

· Perform other duties as required;

· The position reports to the PBU Chief Engineer and is also accountable to the PBU General Manager

<strong>Requirements/Qualifications:</strong>

· A broad understanding and relevant experience of technology, engineering, and analysis tools are essential for this position. Applicable areas include mechanical, electrical, structural, and thermal design, as well as engineering simulations and CAE analysis, including CFD and FEA;

· Bachelor’s degree in engineering (MSc or PhD preferred), and 5+ years of work experience (multidisciplinary work experience preferred);

· Relevant experience in a relevant position. Candidates with 2+ years of experience leading R&amp;D teams and/or advanced technology projects are preferred;

· Preference for candidates with automotive, EV, and/or battery experience;

· Ability to present effectively and clearly;

· High level of dedication to meeting customer requests and time commitments;

· Significant global interaction is required with Boston-Power Corporate R&amp;D in Westborough, Massachusetts as well as with Chinese and international suppliers and development partners;

· Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills;

· Strong communication skills (verbal, written and presentation) and ability to discuss technical issues with wide range of audiences;

· Good English written and oral communications skills;

· Willing to live in Beijing area;

· Occasional travel to other Boston-Power locations or customer sites as necessary;

· Willingness to support a variety of projects as needed;
